Maggie Ho
R.Ac, BA Psyc
Maggie comes from a long family history and background nestled in Traditional Chinese Medicine philosophies. She first discovered the healing power of acupuncture in her youth and expanded its depth as a caretaker to her husband during his cancer recovery. This passion and desire to absorb all-that-she-can led her to start a journey down a path of Eastern holistic healing. She finished her Registered Acupuncturist program with PCU Holistic College and was honoured to be the Valedictorian in 2018. Prior to this Maggie also attained her Psychology degree from the University of British Columbia.
As a licensed and board certified Registered Acupuncturist (CTCMA), she truly cares about the well-being of each of her patients and aims to improve their physical and mental health for long-term, sustainable changes. She is known to send her patients off with at-home care tips to enhance acupuncture's therapeutic effects.
Maggie specializes in the use of distal techniques and is a Certified Balance Method practitioner (2021). This powerful distal system is able to yield highly effective results for stress and anxiety, circulatory difficulties, GERD, gastrointestinal challenges, inflammation, hot flashes, and gynaecological issues. She also frequently works with easing acute or chronic body pain and tension.
Acupuncture Sports Medicine Series (2019)
Balance System Acupuncture Certification (2021)
After becoming a mother, Maggie developed a keen interest in women's health and is a firm believer in the importance of natural, injection-free skincare. She dove deeply into her education with Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture. These carefully designed treatments naturally stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, soften and smooth out wrinkles, and lift and tone facial muscles for a noticeably brighter and more vibrant appearance. As the face is a reflection of our bodies on the inside, the treatments are also aimed to improve overall health and well-being.
Some of the courses she has taken include:
Traditional Facial Rejuvenation (2019)
Facial Cupping & Facial Gua Sha (2019)
Advanced Techniques in Facial Acupuncture (2019)
Constitutional Facial Acupuncture (2021)
Facial Diagnosis (2021)
Layers of the Face (2021)
Submuscular Needling for Advanced Cosmetic Facial Acupuncture (2021)
Intradermal Needling for Cosmetic Acupuncture (2021)
Muscles of the Face, Advanced (2021)
Skin Disorders & Skin Care (2021)
Her strong passion for women’s wellness led her to complete additional fertility + pregnancy training. Having been through fertility treatments herself, she has a deep respect for this profound journey. She has continuing successes with fertility and pregnancy issues, and can safely treat all trimesters of pregnancy. Maggie also has a focus on labour preparation in the latter stages of pregnancy in preparation for a smooth, happy and healthy delivery.
The Complete Pregnancy & TCM Course (2019)
The Complete Fertility Course (2020)
When not treating her patients, Maggie can be found around town with her husband, two sons, her senior but young-at-heart terrier, and newest rescue pup. She loves the feeling of peace that animals can offer and has volunteered at the Vancouver Cancer Agency for 5 years as a therapy dog team member. Maggie enjoys a good laugh and taking weekend road trips with her boys to discover parts of the great Northwest.
